Galloway has been described as “God's own country”. We will be touring in the Southern, less hilly, parts of Galloway, starting in the Rhins, going through the Machars and the Stewartry, and finishing in Dumfries.
Stories will, of course, include St Ninian, Robert the Bruce, smuggling and wizardry.
One week tour, Sunday 25th - Saturday 31st July
| Day 1 | Meet in Stoneykirk, 6 miles outside Stranraer |
| Day 2 | Cycle by way of Glenluce to Port William (23 miles) |
| Day 3 | By way of Whithorn to Wigtown – Scotland's national book town (29 miles with an optional extra 6 to reach Isle of Whithorn) |
| Day 4 | After a coffee stop in Newton Stewart we pass into the Stewartry and continue to Gatehouse of Fleet (27 miles) |
| Day 5 | A shorter journey (15 miles) to Kirkcudbright, the artists' town. The 'Glasgow Girls' exhibition will coincide with our visit |
| Day 6 | Our final day of cycling takes us through Castle Douglas to Dumfries, stopping at Dumfries' camera obscura and passing Robert Burns' mausoleum (29 miles) |
| Day 7 | Good byes |
We will be staying in inns and guest houses.
| Costs: £545 | per person based on two people sharing a room, which includes 6 nights Dinner, bed and breakfast and entrance to the camera obscura. A 10% discount will be offered to anyone who also joins the Hadrians Wall tour which follows this one. |
