Cooling Off in Loch Leven   St Serf & Dysart

Ancestral home of the Scottish monarchs, fairly flat and therefore easy cycling, its coastal towns and harbours contrasting with rural villages. We pass several historic buildings, and will hear some of the history and legend, of wizards, saints and kings.

Weekend tour, Saturday 12th - Sunday 13th June
A weekend tour starting in Kirkcaldy on Saturday morning and staying overnight in Kinross. You can end the tour in Dunfermline on Sunday, or continue to Edinburgh. Stories will include those of St Serf and St Margaret. Mention of the devil too!

Costs: £85 per person based on two people sharing a room, which includes Dinner, bed and breakfast.

Luggage transfer is not included in this tour.
Accommodation is available in Kirkcaldy if you want to arrive there on the Friday evening.

One week tour, 26th September - 2nd October
On this tour we follow parts of National Cycle Route 1, the Fife Coastal path, and Fife’s Millennium Cycleways

Day 1 Meet in Dunfermline, ancient capital of Scotland
Day 2 Cycle to Kinross (14 miles) and visit Loch Leven castle
Day 3 Cupar (25 miles) visiting Falkland Palace on the way
Day 4 Cycle to Crail by way of St Andrews (27 miles, or a little more if we include Fife Ness)
Day 5 Lower Largo, birthplace of Alexander Selkirk (on whom the character of Robinson Crusoe was largely based) (22 miles). We will stop at The Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther
Day 6 We reach our final destination, the former royal burgh of Inverkeithing, (27 miles)
Day 7 Good byes. You can leave from Inverkeithing, or cycle back to Dunfermline or on to Edinburgh (luggage transfer not included for these options).

We will be staying in inns and guest houses.

Costs: £610 per person based on two people sharing a room, which includes 6 nights Dinner, bed and breakfast, and entrance to Loch Leven Castle, Falkland Palace and The Scottish Fisheries Museum.
